Picqer AI agent integration for order status, stock and returns
A Picqer AI agent integration lets an agent answer customers and dealers about orders, stock and shipments with live data from your warehouse, and prepare actions such as pausing an order or registering a return. Below we cover how that relates to Picqer's own MCP server, and how the connection works.
Short answer
Yes. An AI agent connects to Picqer through the Picqer API with its own API key. It reads orders, stock, picklists and shipments, including the track and trace link, and combines them with data from Exact Online or your CRM. Changes, such as pausing an order or creating a return, wait in an approval queue, because a Picqer API key itself cannot be limited to reading.
What is a Picqer AI agent integration?
It is a connection through the Picqer API that lets an AI agent look up warehouse data in Picqer and, where you allow it, prepare changes. A customer asks where an order is; the agent checks the order and its shipment in Picqer and answers with the status and the track and trace link.
Picqer is warehouse software for online stores and fulfilment companies with their own warehouse, according to Picqer from about 25 orders a day. Through the API you can read all data in Picqer and change most of it, according to Picqer's help center.

Does Picqer have its own AI or an MCP server?
Yes, an MCP server, in beta and announced in Picqer's changelog of 9 September 2026. It connects Picqer to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, so a colleague can ask questions about orders, picklists, products and stock in plain language, or with write access give instructions. Picqer describes it as a public test, so features may still change.
- Two modes per profile: Read only, or Read and write, which adds tools that create and update data, such as pausing orders, assigning picklists and correcting stock.
- A number of irreversible actions are deliberately left out, such as processing orders, closing picklists and creating shipments.
- With a setting for customer data turned off, the tools for customers, users and comments are unavailable and personal data and order fields are removed from orders and picklists.
- The MCP server runs in its own environment next to Picqer, requires two-factor authentication and connects with a Picqer API key, which stays encrypted on the server.
- Picqer describes it as a way to connect your own AI assistant to Picqer. The documentation does not cover a chat for customers on your website or WhatsApp, data from Exact Online, or approval of changes by a colleague.

Picqer's MCP server or a managed agent: which fits?
Use Picqer's MCP server when one colleague wants to query or adjust Picqer from their own AI assistant and accepts that it is a beta. Choose a managed agent when customers or dealers ask the questions, the answer also needs data from Exact Online or your CRM, and a colleague approves changes.
| Picqer MCP server (beta) | Managed agent from BeeManaged | |
|---|---|---|
| Who it is for | Your team, through their own AI assistant | Customers and dealers on website and WhatsApp, and your team |
| Systems | Picqer | Picqer plus Exact Online, CRM and email |
| Write actions | Per profile: read only, or read and write, with some irreversible actions left out | Prepared by the agent, executed after approval |
| Management | You | BeeManaged, with monitoring and audit log |
| Cost | No price published for the beta | From €0.35 per conversation; internal agents in consultation |
What does an AI agent do with Picqer for a trading company?
It answers the questions your customer service now looks up by hand: where is my order, is this item in stock, when will a backorder arrive. It also prepares the follow-up, such as pausing an order after an address change or registering a return. Five examples below.
| Process | Question or trigger | What the agent reads or does | What comes back |
|---|---|---|---|
| Where is my order? | Customer asks on WhatsApp about order 10432 | Verifies the asker, reads status and shipment | Status and the public track and trace link |
| Stock question | Dealer: can you deliver 40 pieces of this item this week? | Reads free stock per warehouse | Available quantity, or a handover to sales |
| Backorder | Customer: when will the missing item arrive? | Reads open purchase order lines for the product | Expected delivery, if your purchase order has a date |
| Address change | Customer reports a wrong delivery address | Prepares pausing the order with a note | Order paused after approval, colleague corrects the address |
| Return | Customer wants to return a damaged product | Asks for order number, reason and photo, prepares a return | A return in Picqer after approval, customer gets the next step |

How does this work together with Exact Online?
If you run Picqer next to Exact Online, the agent reads both: Picqer for warehouse status and shipments, Exact Online for customers, prices and invoices. It does not take over the synchronisation between the two; your existing integration keeps doing that.
Picqer's own direct Exact Online integration, which created invoices, can no longer be set up for the first time. Picqer refers new customers to the integration by xCore, a third party. According to Picqer, it sends sales orders from Exact Online to Picqer, sends goods deliveries, goods receipts and stock movements from Picqer to Exact Online, and synchronises purchase orders in the direction you choose, with one system always leading.

How does the Picqer API connection work technically?
The agent uses the Picqer REST API on your own subdomain, with HTTP Basic authentication and a dedicated API key that an administrator creates in Picqer. A key cannot be limited to reading or to certain data, except to one fulfilment customer. That is why the limits sit on our side: a fixed list of allowed actions and an approval queue in app.beemanaged.com.
- API access is included in every Picqer plan at no extra cost. Use a separate key per application, so you can revoke the agent's key without stopping other integrations.
- Rate limit: normally 500 requests per minute per API key, which Picqer may adjust when the platform is busy. Most lists return 100 results per request.
- Webhooks push events such as orders.status_changed, picklists.shipments.created and products.free_stock_changed. Picqer signs them with HMAC SHA256 when you set a secret, and retries failed deliveries 15 times over about 17 hours.
- Each parcel on a shipment has a tracking code and a publicly accessible tracking URL, so the agent shares the carrier's tracking link instead of reading out order details.
- Data location: Picqer runs within the European Economic Area, mostly on Amazon Web Services and partly on DigitalOcean; some processors, such as the email service, work outside the EEA. Our agents and data run in the EU, with no training on your data.

How we set it up, in four steps
01
Choose one process
Usually order status on WhatsApp or the website, with your rules for verifying the customer and handing over to a colleague.
02
Connect with a dedicated key
Your Picqer administrator creates a separate API key for the agent; we start with reading only and test on real questions.
03
Go live with approval
Pausing an order, creating a return and other changes wait in the approval queue until a colleague approves.
04
Monitor and improve
Conversation review, audit log and a monthly report with the themes that came up, then the next process.
Pricing for a Picqer agent
Customer-facing agents cost from €0.35 per conversation. Setup is quoted up front (development €175 per hour), monitoring and the dashboard cost €250 per month, and a consultation package is €1,750. Internal agents are custom work, priced in consultation. Your Picqer plan stays as it is; API access is included in every plan.
When don't you need BeeManaged for Picqer?
If a colleague mainly wants to ask Picqer questions from Claude or ChatGPT, Picqer's MCP server covers that, as a beta. If your webshop already sends track and trace emails and few customers ask about their order, an agent adds little. BeeManaged makes sense when many customers or dealers ask questions, the answer needs Exact Online or CRM data too, and changes need approval.

Frequently asked questions
Can an AI agent give customers their order status from Picqer?
Yes. The agent reads the order and its shipment through the Picqer API and shares the status and the public track and trace link, after verifying the customer according to your rules.
Can the agent change orders in Picqer?
The API allows it, for example pausing an order or creating a return. We start read-only, and every change waits in the approval queue until a colleague approves it.
Does Picqer have an MCP server?
Yes, in beta, announced on 9 September 2026. It connects Picqer to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT for employees, read only or with write access, and leaves out a number of irreversible actions, such as processing orders.
Which rights does the agent get in Picqer?
A Picqer API key gives access to the whole API, unless it is limited to one fulfilment customer. We therefore use a dedicated key, allow only the actions a process needs, and record every question and action in the audit log.
Does this work with our Exact Online integration?
Yes. The agent reads Picqer and Exact Online side by side and leaves the synchronisation to your existing integration, such as the one by xCore.
What does it cost?
Customer-facing agents cost from €0.35 per conversation, setup is quoted up front and monitoring with the dashboard costs €250 per month. API access is included in every Picqer plan.
