Salesforce AI agent integration for sales and service

A Salesforce AI agent integration lets an agent turn website and WhatsApp conversations into leads, opportunities and cases in Salesforce, and answer your team's questions with CRM data next to order and stock data from your ERP. Below we cover how that relates to Agentforce and Salesforce's hosted MCP servers, and how the connection works.

Short answer

Yes. An AI agent connects to Salesforce through the Salesforce API, with an External Client App and a dedicated integration user whose permission sets decide what it may read and write. It prepares leads, opportunities and cases from conversations, which a colleague approves. Agentforce is Salesforce's own agent platform; a BeeManaged agent is built and managed for you and combines Salesforce with your ERP, your own routing rules and an approval queue.

What is a Salesforce AI agent integration?

It is a connection through the Salesforce API that lets an AI agent read CRM records and, where you allow it, create or update them. A visitor asks for advice or a quote; the agent answers, collects the details and prepares a lead, opportunity or case in Salesforce for the right person, with the conversation attached.

Through the REST API an integration creates records with a POST on the object's resource, for standard objects such as leads, accounts, contacts, opportunities and cases, and for your custom objects.

What does Salesforce's own AI, Agentforce, do?

Agentforce is Salesforce's AI agent platform; its employee assistant was formerly called Einstein Copilot. It supports employees inside Salesforce and runs agents that answer customers on the web, in messaging channels and by phone. Salesforce prices it per action with Flex Credits, per conversation for external customer agents, or per user as an add-on.

Agentforce works with data in Salesforce; ERP data such as stock, customer prices or delivery dates is only available if you connect or sync it, and the dealer routing and approval rules of your own process still have to be built. That is the part a BeeManaged agent adds, next to Agentforce.

  • Flex Credits (October 2026): $500 per 100,000 credits. An Agentforce action uses 20 Flex Credits, an Agentforce Voice action 30.
  • Per conversation: $2, intended for external customer agents.
  • Per user: $125 per user per month, as add-ons for Sales, Service, and Field Service and Operations.
  • The new Core, Advanced and Max editions, announced in September 2026, include 500,000, 1 million and 2.75 million Flex Credits respectively.

Does Salesforce have an MCP server?

Yes. Salesforce hosted MCP servers have been generally available since April 2026 for every Enterprise Edition org and above. Every call runs as the authenticated user, so object permissions, field-level security and sharing rules apply. An administrator turns the servers on; they are off by default. Salesforce intends them for customers with Flex Credits, and usage may be billed.

  • The client connects with OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code and PKCE through an External Client App with the mcp_api and refresh_token scopes. Connected Apps cannot be used for MCP.
  • Salesforce lists Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Postman and Agentforce Vibes as tested clients.
  • Besides a server with full create, read, update and delete on all objects, there are scoped servers such as SObject Reads (read and query only) and SObject Mutations (create and update, no delete).
  • An MCP server gives one user access through their own AI assistant. Website visitors, dealers and the approval rules of a process are outside its scope.

Agentforce, a self-service connector or a managed agent: which fits?

Use Agentforce when your team works mainly inside Salesforce and you want Salesforce's own agents. The hosted MCP servers suit one person querying Salesforce from their own AI assistant. Choose a managed agent when the answer needs data from your ERP as well as Salesforce, and your own routing and approval rules, for example for customers and dealers on your website or WhatsApp.

What does an AI agent do with Salesforce in a manufacturing company?

It turns conversations into CRM work and answers questions that need more than Salesforce: a qualified lead or opportunity, a case with the missing details, a task for the account manager, and answers that combine opportunities with orders from your ERP. Your team approves where it matters. Five examples below.

Five processes with Salesforce
ProcessQuestion or triggerWhat the agent reads or doesWhat comes back
Qualified lead from the websiteVisitor asks for a quote for a machine partAsks quantity, application and timeline, creates or updates the leadA qualified lead in Salesforce, with the conversation
Owner and follow-upWho follows up this request?Applies your routing rules, prepares a task for the account manager or dealerA task with the request and next step, after approval
Case from WhatsApp or emailCustomer reports a problem with a delivered productAsks for order number and photo, creates a caseA case with the details, ready for service
Questions from salesAccount manager: what is open at this customer and what did they order?Reads opportunities and cases in Salesforce and orders in your ERPOne answer from both systems, with sources
Status for the customerCustomer: when does my order ship?Verifies the contact, reads the order in the ERPStatus and delivery date of their own order

How does the Salesforce API connection work technically?

The agent uses the Salesforce REST API through an External Client App and an OAuth 2.0 flow. It runs as a dedicated integration user: Salesforce's Integration user licence gives system-to-system users API-only access, and permission sets decide which objects and fields the agent may read or change. Writes go through the approval queue in app.beemanaged.com.

  • Apps (as of October 2026): creating new Connected Apps has been restricted since Spring '26. Existing Connected Apps keep working; Salesforce recommends External Client Apps for new integrations.
  • Editions: API access is on by default in Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited and Developer Edition; Professional Edition can add it. The user needs the API Enabled permission.
  • API limits are per org, not per user: for Enterprise and Professional with API access, 100,000 calls per 24 hours plus 1,000 per Salesforce licence (5,000 on Unlimited and Performance), plus purchased add-ons.
  • Data location: on Hyperforce, Salesforce offers EU regions including Germany (Frankfurt), France (Paris), Italy (Milan) and Sweden (Stockholm). The Hyperforce Operating Zone, available in the EU and Switzerland, keeps storage, processing and access within the EU (or within Switzerland for the Swiss zone), without a choice of a specific EU country. Our agents and data run in the EU, with no training on your data.

How we set it up, in four steps

  1. 01

    Choose one process

For example quote requests from the website, with the rules for lead status and which account manager follows up.

  2. 02

    Connect with minimal rights

Your Salesforce admin creates the External Client App and the integration user with only the permission sets the process needs; we test on real conversations.

  3. 03

    Go live with approval

Leads, opportunities, cases and tasks wait in the approval queue until a colleague approves.

  4. 04

    Monitor and improve

Conversation review, audit log and a monthly report with the themes that came up, then the next process.

Pricing for a Salesforce agent

Customer-facing agents cost from €0.35 per conversation. Setup is quoted up front (development €175 per hour), monitoring and the dashboard cost €250 per month, and a consultation package is €1,750. Internal agents are custom work, priced in consultation. Your Salesforce licences stay as they are. Salesforce has announced that API calls by registered AI agents will later be metered in Flex Credits; the rate is not yet published (October 2026).

When don't you need BeeManaged for Salesforce?

If your team mainly wants help inside Salesforce and the answers are in Salesforce, Agentforce is the obvious first step. If one person wants to query Salesforce from an AI assistant, the hosted MCP servers cover it. BeeManaged makes sense when conversations need ERP data next to Salesforce and your own routing and approval rules.

Frequently asked questions

Can an AI agent create leads and cases in Salesforce?

Yes, through the Salesforce REST API, as an integration user whose permission sets allow it. We start read-only and let the agent prepare records, which a colleague approves in the queue.

What is the difference with Agentforce?

Agentforce is Salesforce's own agent platform, for employees and for customers on web, messaging and phone, priced per action, conversation or user; other systems connect through Data 360, MuleSoft or Flows. A BeeManaged agent combines Salesforce with your ERP and your own routing rules, and runs with an approval queue and audit log.

Does Salesforce have an MCP server?

Yes, hosted MCP servers have been generally available since April 2026 for Enterprise Edition and up. An administrator enables them, the user's own permissions, field-level security and sharing rules apply, and Salesforce intends them for customers with Flex Credits.

Which rights does the agent get in Salesforce?

Only what the permission sets of its integration user allow, set by your Salesforce admin. We request the minimum per process and record every question and action in the audit log, with the conversation that caused it.

Where is Salesforce data stored?

On Hyperforce, Salesforce offers EU regions such as Frankfurt and Paris, and an Operating Zone that keeps data within the EU (or within Switzerland). The BeeManaged agent and its data run in the EU under a data processing agreement.

What does it cost?

Customer-facing agents cost from €0.35 per conversation, setup is quoted up front and monitoring with the dashboard costs €250 per month. Internal agents are custom work, priced in consultation.
