Our software reduces your electricity costs by charging a home battery when electricity is cheap. When you need power, you always use the cheapest possible power. This significantly reduces your energy bill. To realize this saving, you need both a dynamic energy contract and a home battery.

After you grant us permission to connect to your inverter we will manage your home battery. In short: no installation is needed.

With a dynamic energy contract you pay the prices that apply on the electricity market. These prices vary per hour. During the day, hourly prices vary considerably. Our software ensures that your battery is always charged with the cheapest possible power. Switching to a dynamic energy contract is even more attractive in 2023 because of the price ceiling. The government guarantees a maximum price. As a result, you benefit if the dynamic prices are lower and you do not have to pay more if the price is higher than the price ceiling.

A home battery is a large battery in which you can store electricity for later use. With a home battery, you can store electricity when the price per hour is low. This way, you can also benefit from lower prices even if you don't have solar panels. If you do have solar panels, you can store your own free electricity. You can then use that cheap electricity in your battery when the price is high again or in the evening when the sun is no longer shining. In the Netherlands, you can still offset your electricity consumption with the electricity you generate from your solar panels, but this is likely to be phased out from 2025. As offsetting gradually disappears, the electricity generated from your own solar panels becomes much less valuable. When this happens it is no longer profitable to sell this electricity back to the grid but it is worth using it yourself. A home battery will be the storage you need to be able to use your own solar energy when the sun is no longer shining.

The cost of a home battery depends on the amount of kWh you wish to store. Typically, a battery costs between €750 to €1000 per kWh, plus around €1500 for installation and other materials. However, it's important to note that the prices of batteries are expected to decrease in the coming years. Just like how the first flat-screen TV cost €25,000 and now only costs a few hundred euros, we can expect the cost of home batteries to continue to decrease over time.
